2 pm Kingdom Archery Championship Tournament:
Candidates for selection of the Archery Champion for Ivan and Katalena:
Expectations: To represent the Crown in deed, comportment and demeanor. Assist with the set up, tear down and duties of accompanying Them at Kingdom Courts. Would prefer someone eager and willing to travel approximately 2x per month and will be attending Pennsic. If you are interested in competing for this coveted position please read the below rules for the shoot. The competition will take place at Their Coronation in Brendoken on May 4th.
The Rules of the Shoot:
First Four Rounds:
Distance will be approximately 20 yards. Blow throughs will not count, lines will be in archer's favor. Archers may start with "one on the string".
First Round: Archers will have up to 40 seconds to loose up to six arrows/bolts whereby only the points in the 1 and 2 rings (White - 1 pt, Black - 2 pts) will count.
Second Round: Archers will have up to 40 seconds to loose up to six arrows/bolts whereby only the points in the 2 and 3 rings (Black - 2 pts, Blue - 3 pts) will count.
Third Round: Archers will have up to 40 seconds to loose up to six arrows/bolts whereby only the points in the 3 and 4 rings (Blue - 3 pts, Red - 4 pts) will count.
Fourth Round: Archers will have up to 40 seconds to loose up to six arrows/bolts whereby only the points in the 4 and 5 rings (Red - 4 pts, Gold - 5 pts) will count.
Maximum Score for the first 4 rounds is 84 points and may likely be below that.
Head to head Rounds:
There will be ONLY two archers on the line for these shoots, seeds will be randomly selected via chit. Archers will start with 1 arrow/bolt IN HAND, (crossbows may start spanned) and will be firing at human sized targets (representing their opponents) approximately 20 paces. Line marshall will count 3,2,1, LOOSE. The first archer to successfully strike their target (head or torso) is to call "Kill". Upon the announcement of "Kill" the line marshall will count 3,2,1 HOLD. Line marshal will confirm if a Kill has occurred (again archer's favor on the line) and IF the opponent has also registered a kill within that 3 second delay. Any archer that announced "Kill" and has missed a fatal strike zone does not score and will not advance, that opponent, however, will advance even if they did not land an arrow/bolt in the scoring zone. (They would only score 0 for that round, but still advance.)
Each Kill will score 5 points and the archer will advance to the next round, even in the case of a Double Kill. Remaining archers will pair up according to their seed number and take their turn until all archers have shot. There is NO loser's bracket. Early/Late releases will eliminate that archer from advancement.
Second and beyond head-to-head rounds, new pairings, same rules.
It is recognized that due to the nature of the target size, distance and the potential skill of the archers that multiple double kills and thus double advancements may occur.
If at anytime an archer has achieved or surpassed a score of 100, said archer should announce it and that head-to-head round will finish and the top scores will be submitted (still advancing or not) to The Heirs for consideration as Their Archery Champion.
Once the competitors have completed the head-to-head portion, then the same shoots, same rules, same distances, same targets will be run again for anyone else interested in shooting it for sport.
